Hilary Horn Ratner
Hilary Rater, PhD is currently Professor and Director of Program Development and Training at the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute and Professor in the Department of Psychology at Wayne State University. She joined Wayne State University in 1981 and has served in various administrative roles including Vice President for Research and Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School. Dr. Ratner's research expertise is focused on the social and emotional foundations of memory, learning, and academic achievement from preschool through adolescence. In addition, she has studied issues related to workforce development among early childhood educators. She has published widely in these areas and has received funding from many agencies and foundations to support her research. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and has served as a member of the editorial board of a number of journals.
