Endorsement Renewal Requirements
Endorsement renewal helps ensure professionals stay grounded in current best practices, deepen their reflective skills, and continue to grow in their roles. It supports a strong, consistent workforce committed to quality, relationship-based care for infants, young children, and families.
Endorsees must renew their endorsement to keep it active. Endorsement renewal occurs in 3-year cycles, with the cycle running from October 1 to December 31 in each renewal year. The upcoming renewal years are 2027, 2030, 2033, and so on. Failure to renew their endorsement can result in the removal of their name from the Endorsement Registry.
-
Endorsees will complete the renewal by attesting to receiving specialized in-service trainings and RSC hours attended during the cycle. These trainings should be specific to IECMH-E® competencies. Endorsees must always hold continuous membership with an AIMH to maintain active Endorsement.
-
A minimum of 45 clock hours of training is required over the 3-year cycle, focused on the promotion of social-emotional development of infant and young children and/or other relationship-based principles of infant mental health.
For ERS and Mentor-Clinical: a minimum of 9 of the 45 clock hours of training is required over the 3-year cycle, focused on the provision of Reflective Supervision/Consultation
Endorsed Mid-Cycle Adjustment: Endorsed for 2 years at time of renewal, complete 30 hours; Endorsed for 1 year at time of renewal, complete 15 hours. (same adjustment applies to the specific RSC training if ERS or Mentor- Clinical is earned mid-cycle).
-
A minimum of 36 clock hours of reflective supervision/consultation is required over the 3-year cycle (equivalent to 12 hours/year).

Endorsed Mid-Cycle Adjustment: Endorsed for 2 years at the time of renewal complete 24 hours; If endorsed for 1 year at the time of renewal , complete 12 hours.

Endorsement Renewal Audits
Endorsed professionals will attest to meeting renewal requirements within EASy for EACH Endorsement held. AIMHs will conduct random audits for compliance with the renewal requirements. If an Endorsee is selected for the audit, they will be asked to add their training and RSC hours into EASy for review. Endorsees are free to use EASy on an ongoing base to track their ongoing training and RSC hours. More details and notification of audit selects will come closer to the renewal cycle.
If an endorsee chooses to not renew their Endorsement, does not meet the renewal requirements, or misses the renewal cycle, they will be removed from their AIMH’s Endorsement Registry and no longer be able to use their I/ECMH-E® credential or identify themselves as endorsed. Those professionals may reinstate their endorsement at any time to return to the endorsement registry.
